EYE FOR AN EYE IS COLOR BLIND

EYE FOR AN EYE IS COLOR BLIND
She used to walk to school, she was only 12 but so pretty

What had happened to her that day shouldn’t happen to no body

Those three white boys ripped through her like she was machete

They strung her up onto a pole, her hair blew fiercely in the wind

When they were done they dug a hole, they were laughing when they threw her in

They found her buried up to her neck, until not much of her life was left

Who’s going to believe a black kid, when they were done she was deaf

When the town found out they were outrage, to hurt a girl at that age

They found the good ole boys who think their tough

Got a tree and hung them up, upside down till blood rushed to their heads

Those boys all hung there till they lye upside down and dead

And eye for an eye is color blind, if you hurt a child you’re life is mine

That’s the first time the town forgot color, and hugged one another

Something I now understand, hatred is bigger than one man, taught by ignorant man
